Mouse/Rat – Skin
To deliver genes into Mouse/Rat Skin by electroporation, we recommend:
-¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† CUY663-5×10 electrode
This electrode is a tweezers-type electrode.  One tweezers is a 5 x 10mm rectangular electrode and the other is three needles which look like a fork.
For your further information, some clients prefer to use the CUY650P electrode series for the same application.  The CUY650P series is also a tweezers type electrode but it incorporates disk electrodes.  With the CUY650P series, skin is picked up and simply sandwiched between the disk electrodes.
Kindly note Dr. Maruyama’s excellent know-how article:
According to Dr. Maruyama’s paper, the required voltage is maximum 24V. ¬†The appropriate electrode diameter depends on the size of the area into which the genes are to be transfected.¬† If one’s target area is small, the 1mm diameter (CUY650P1) electrode is appropriate.
