NEPA21 Electroporator

Super Electroporator NEPA21

The NEPA21 Electroporator is our latest and most sophisticated electroporation device to-date.  It is the successor to our hugely successful CUY21EDIT and CUY21SC electroporator range.

The NEPA21 Electroporator is based on the same platform and core technology that made the CUY21EDIT and CUY21SC devices leaders in their class.  The NEPA21 can do in one device what each of the EDIT and SC did individually, i.e., it combines BOTH the wider voltage range of the EDIT and the enhanced sensitivity at lower voltages of the SC.

The NEPA21 has been bench-marked and tested against the CUY21 series to ensure that it delivers the exact same protocol results as the EDIT and SC devices for each and every published application.  In addition, the NEPA21 also offers other novel attributes that extend its application range even further:

–    a 2-Step Pulse: A Electroporation (Poring) Pulse (a high voltage & short duration pulse) and a Transferring (Driving) Pulse (a low voltage with multiple duration settings pulses)

–    the NEPA21 not only incorporates the full In Vivo, In Utero, In Ovo and Ex Vivo application ranges of the CUY21EDIT and CUY21SC devices, but it also includes a completely new and novel In Vitro application range

–    it can be targeted at BOTH In Vitro (Suspended Cells and Adherent Cell) and In Vivo applications

–    lower operating-cost advantages for both Suspended Cells and Adherent Cells (in commercially available cell culture plates) and In Vivo applications (there is no requirement for expensive special reagents)

–    delivers High Transfection Efficiency and Viability

–    a voltage output-range that matches the published extended-output voltage protocols of the CUY21EDIT device

–    an enhanced voltages output-control that matches the renowned sensitivity of the CUY21SC device at low voltage settings

Novel 3-Step Multiple Electroporation Pulse:

The 3-Step pulse regime with voltage decay and polarity exchange facilitates more highly controlled electroporation  pulse delivery. This results in higher transfection efficiency and higher cell viability WITHOUT a requirement for specialised buffers..
Step 1 Membrane ‘Poration’ Pulse Mode:High Voltage, Short Duration, Single/Multiple Pulse(s), Voltage DecayThis poration pulse forms pores in the cell membrane with minimum residual cell damage  .
Step 2 Transfer Pulse Mode:Low Voltage, Long Duration, Multiple Pulses, Voltage Decay. This transfer pulse is for electrokinetic delivery of the target molecules (DNA, RNA, etc.) into cells with minimum residual cell damage  .
Step 3 Polarity Exchanged Transfer PulseThis can improve the transfection efficiency and again, minimise residual cell damage.

Applications with Electroporation Cuvettes

The NEPA21 Electroporator makes it possible to achieve high transfection efficiency and viability without recourse to special buffers for PRIMARY CELLS, STEM CELLS and difficult-to-transfect cells asIMMUNE CELLS, BLOOD CELLS, ETC.
